Great night at workshops last night which we held in Tullamore Library as the beginning of Dyslexia Awareness week. Kids were treated to an amazing inciteful story time by Seanie Morris. Seanie grasped the attention of all the kids from 7 to 17 as he told them and showed them all about how his story “Melvin the friendly bedtime Monster” came into being. He showed them his storyboards and then his finished book. Two of the kids then volunteered to read his story for all the other kids. Seanie gave the kids great encouragement, telling them if they have an ideas for a story they should write it down. All the kids had a great night. A big thank you to Seanie Morris who volunteered his time to the group at very notice. Everyone looks forward to having him back next year.

Tune in tomorrow morning to listen to Will Faulkner interviewing Gearoid about being a parent of a child with dyslexia, a committee member of offaly dyslexia group and who has dyslexia himself.

Fantastic day today in Dublin for Offaly Dyslexia group thanks to The Journal and Irish rail for the train tickets. What a lovely way to finish off our term. Great experience going around the 1916 experience in Collins barracks and then a lovely walk through the peoples gardens and climbing the wellington monument ie those of us who dared. Our thanks also to the three tour guys in Collins Barracks who put up with the enormous number of questions from the kids.
